The five criteria
Senior: 8+ years
Building production systems. Not years in the industry: years shipping things that ran for real users.
Production code in Python, TypeScript and Java
The languages your stack is most likely written in. They write inside it, not next to it.
At least one LLM project in production
Not a demo, not a notebook. A system with users, evals and guardrails that they shipped and kept running.
C1+ English
They sit in your customer calls and talk to your customers directly. No relay, no translation layer.
The customer-simulation interview
They explain a technical trade-off to a non-technical executive. If the executive doesn't get it, they don't pass.
Why we publish it
Forward deployed means being there, inside your systems and in front of your customers. That only works if the person we send can do the job on day one. The bar is public so you know exactly who is walking into your Slack.
