Vitzi Tech was founded by Juan Añez, a solutions architect with 11+ years building mission-critical systems: digital banking platforms, and cloud microservices for a major US telecom operator on GCP and AWS. His career has been spent in the same place every Forward Deployed Engineer works: inside the client, where clean architecture meets legacy systems, security reviews and real users.
In 2026, Juan built Yatendi, an AI agent platform that runs customer conversations on WhatsApp and Instagram for businesses in Colombia. Running AI in production every day taught us what no demo does. Models are the easy part. The last mile — integrations, data, guardrails, and the humans who have to trust the system — is where AI succeeds or dies.
Vitzi exists to close that last mile. - What is a Forward Deployed Engineer?
- A software engineer who works where the problem lives. Pioneered by Palantir and now adopted by OpenAI and Anthropic, FDEs embed with the customer, write production code inside their systems, and stay until it runs. Consultants hand you a report. FDEs hand you a working system.
- How is this different from a consultancy or staff augmentation?
- Unlike consultancies, we deliver working systems, not reports. Unlike staff augmentation, we own the deployment outcome, not the hours. Our FDEs live in your Slack, standups and customer calls, on US hours.
- How fast can a Forward Deployed Engineer start?
- The Vitzi Deployment Method starts with Discover in week 1, your FDE embeds in weeks 1–2, and shipping runs from week 2 to week 8. For AI companies, ramp-up on your product takes 10 days.
- Where are your engineers, and do they work in our timezone?
- Our engineers are based in Latin America and work with full US business-hour overlap. They are bilingual (C1+ English) and talk to your customers directly. We are in San Francisco, Bogotá and Caracas.
